I have had my dwarf frogs for about 2 weeks.I am very happy with them. Then one of the frogs was on the top of the water verystill and moved occasionally.I put him in my hand whill still in the water to see if he moved. He didnt and hasnt for twenty-four hours. The store told me the frog will be on the bottom of the tank when it dies (like me previouse one) unless it has a certain desise. I checked it for the dises and i didnt find anything.Do you think its time for him to get flushed or is it just playing dead? Please tell me what you think.Thanks.

Make sure he is dead — mine was at the bottom when he died right after I got him for unknown reasons
They do tend to float at teh top and be still, but if he definitely hasnt moved for those 24 hours, that is alarming — try to push him or something and see if he tries to regain his balance.

This is a wonderful yahoo group about african dwarf frogs. Become a member and they can help you will all your problems. There is a fungus that is going around killing thousands and thousands of dwarf frogs called chytrid fungus. This could be what has happened to your frog since you have only had it for a couple weeks. Frogs with this disease usually die within 2 months of getting them. I know I lost 5 in about 3 weeks and it broke my heart. This group will help you if you have questions and also if you think the one that died had the chytrid fungus they can tell you how to treat the other frog you have. When these frogs die you can find them both on the bottom and on the top. It just depends. So chances are if your didn’t move when you touch it it has already passed away. I am sorry.
